2024 Grants
In 2024, the Ascienzo Family Foundation awarded over $185,000 to local and regional nonprofits and through our Ambassador network.
Ambassador & Director Grants:
Learn Serve (Ali Fraenkel)- $20,000 over two years for leadership programming for high school students from diverse backgrounds.
Hit the Books (Kaitlin McGovern)- $7,500 for educational after-school programming centered around mentorship and martial arts classes for students in Harlem, New York.
Minds Matter (Erica Mansfield)- $7,500 for the College Program, which provides college application resources to low-income high school students of color in New York City.
Ruffner Mountain (Brita Brudvig)- $7,500 to advance environmental educational opportunities for the public in Alabama’s largest green spaces.
Sportsmen’s Tennis & Enrichment (Alex Parks)- $7,500 for School to Sportsmen’s, an after school cooking program for elementary school students and their families.
Team Nora (Mia Michaelides)- $7,500 to support individuals and families batting cancer in the Red Hook community.
We Share Solar (Aminy Ostfeld/Legacy Grant)- $7,500 for STEM education, specifically focused on solar energy and humanitarian service, for young students.
Women’s Money Matters (Kyla Gabriel)- $7,500 for financial wellness and education workshops and one-on-one coaching for women in Massachusetts.
Local Grants:
The Arc of Mid-Hudson- $1,500 donation for an adaptable playground at the Brookside School.
Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse- $7,500 to expand number of Personal Safety Program presentations in middle and high schools across Dutchess County.
COOP Concept- $7,500 to support employment and on-the-job training opportunities in sustainable agriculture, building, and entrepreneurship for Kingston youth.
Culture Connect- $7,500 to support programming (including homework help, reading, writing, art, math, outdoor exploration, and cultural celebrations) for ENL students in Rhinebeck and Red Hook schools.
Cultivar- $1,250 donation to support a Dia De Metros Community Celebration at the community farm.
Daily Catch- $1,000 donation to support local journalism.
Dutchess Outreach- $7,500 to meet increased food pantry needs.
Garden Classroom- $7,500 for educational programming supplies for the Red Hook Central School District’s Garden Classroom.
Grace Smith House- $1,500 donation to support services, such as safety planning and counseling services, provided to victims of domestic violence.
Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood- $7,500 for the TeamTam After-School Program which provides academic, social, and emotional support for students in the Hudson City School District.
Historic Red Hook- $1,500 donation to support community programming.
Hospice of the Hudson Valley- $7,500 for a Guard Super Chloe Adult Simulator for use in training and education of home health aides.
InFlight- $7,500 to expand a theater program for teens and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Long Table- $7,500 for the gleaning and food distribution program.
Red Hook Student Council- $5,000 to offset costs for students attending NYS leadership conference.
Poughkeepsie Farm Project- $7,500 to support the Food Share program, which includes donations of farm-fresh produce to local emergency food partners, free produce distributions, and sponsored CSA shares.
Ramapo for Children- $7,500 for vacation programming for local Hudson Valley youth.
Roundout Valley Food Pantry- $1,500 donation for food stuffs.
Red Hook Responds- $7,500 for the Dinner Delivery program.
Red Hook Public Library- $6,275 for a community media hub within the library.
Reizod Foundation- $3,000 for backpacks, shoes, and socks for economically-insecure school kids in Red Hook.
Rotary (Backpack program)- $3,240 donation for school supplies.
Summer Academy- $5,452 to support summer programming for Red Hook students.
Ulster Immigration Defense Network- $7,500 to increase emergency food assistance for new immigrants in Ulster County.
United Way of Ulster County- $6,000 for emergency funding (for utilities, car payments, storage fees, etc.) to prevent homelessness.
United Methodist Church- $7,500 for purchases for the food pantry.
Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)- $1,500 donation for an AED.
Wild Earth- $7,500 to support nature-inspired programing for Kingston students.
Worker Justice Center of New York- $7,500 to support ongoing outreach, education, and legal service for low-wage workers in Dutchess, Columbia, and Ulster counties.
